Success Story – Tina (now Monet)
Tina has officially found her fur-ever home — and her new name is Monet! This sweet girl captured hearts with her loving spirit and quiet charm, and it didn’t take long for the perfect person to see just how special she truly is. Monet is settling into her new life surrounded by love, comfort, and safety, and we couldn’t be happier for her fresh start. Seeing her intake photo moved onto the Adopted Wall is the kind of moment that reminds us why we do what we do.

Congratulations, Monet — your happily ever after has officially begun!

Goose’s Journey Home

When Goose came to Hopewell Humane Society, we knew he deserved a loving home—and he found one quickly. But on the very day his new family was coming to pick him up, Goose had an unexpected reaction to his distemper vaccine. His adoption was placed on hold as he entered a 10-day isolation period, and at first, he showed no signs of improvement.

A Foster Stepped In When He Needed It Most
Understanding the extra strain this placed on our already busy shelter, one of our dedicated team members stepped up to foster Goose through recovery. Goose received a vet visit, 14 days of crucial medication, and consistent care multiple times a day. We even added a humidifier to help ease his upper respiratory symptoms and played calming music to keep him company—so he never felt alone.

Every Step Forward Was Shared
Throughout Goose’s recovery, we kept his excited adopters updated daily with texts and videos, sharing each milestone along the way.

The Happy Ending You Made Possible
Thanks to this dedicated care—and the generosity of our supporters—Goose made a full recovery. We’re thrilled to share that on June 7, 2025, Goose finally went home to his forever family happy, healthy, and loved. His story is a beautiful reminder of what your donations make possible: healing, second chances, and brighter futures for cats in need.

Black Friday Miracle: Luna’s Fight for Life

Black Friday is usually about deals and holiday shopping. But for a tiny two-month-old kitten, it was almost the end. Dumped outside a doctor’s office in late November, this little tortie—soon to be named Luna—was left to face freezing temperatures alone. She wouldn’t have made it through the night.

When our rescue team found Luna, her condition was heartbreaking. She was weak and exhausted, suffering from a painful eye infection, bites from other cats, and internal parasites that were taking a toll on her tiny body. Her meows were barely a whisper. It was clear she needed immediate, intensive care.

Saving a kitten like Luna takes more than love—it takes resources: urgent veterinary care, medications, proper nutrition, and a warm, safe place to recover. Adoption fees help, but they don’t come close to covering what it truly costs to care for cats who arrive sick, injured, or neglected. For 65 years, Hopewell Humane Society has stayed committed to one purpose: saving lives and finding forever homes for cats like Luna.

Because of supporters like you, Luna got her second chance. Your donations allowed us to get her the medical attention she desperately needed, nurse her back to health, and give her the comfort and care every cat deserves.

Today, Luna is thriving—happy, playful, and healthy—and she’s found her forever family. Her story is proof of what compassion can do, and what your support makes possible.
